NABERS and New Legal Requirements
Australia’s governments have agreed to a new national disclosure scheme aimed at improving the energy efficiency of commercial office buildings. Building owners will now be required to disclose energy efficiency information when they sell or lease office space over 2,000 square metres.
In addition to reporting energy efficiency, the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) Energy base building star rating will also need to be disclosed.
