Over 20 years, our founding directors have assembled Australia's finest network of glaziers, covering all facets of glazing, from emergency window and glass door repairs, through to highly technical projects for commercial and architectural construction. Our unparalleled industry experience covers glass manufacture and aluminium window and door framing fabrication.

We are a proudly Australian owned company, supporting a network of some 1500 glaziers in 180 associated companies across the nation, from Broome to Bunbury and from Cooktown to Port Arthur.

We have a proven track record of providing a consistent, high-quality national service to the blue-chip Australian business sector. Our long-term clients include most of the large banks, major fast food chains, leading facilities management companies, national retailers, property and strata managers, insurance companies and shopping centres.

Our success has been the result of an unrelenting focus on technology and systems, combined with distinctly careful and prudent financial planning. Our company has a very positive balance sheet with no external borrowings - we take the long-term view, to ensure the future for our employees and our Australia-wide network.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE GLASS

While technology and systems are essential, it's the people that have made Express Glass. The directors have been with the company since it began operations in 1984. They continue to work actively in the business and play a large role in the strategic planning and development of the company.

Due to the relatively flat structure of our company, our clients benefit from direct access to senior management, ensuring the smooth operation of services.

We have a high ratio of long-term employees and enjoy extraordinary loyalty from our staff. We currently employ 39 people at our head office, many of whom have been with us for several years. In fact, in an industry renowned for its high rotation, six members of our head-office glazing team have a combined total of 70 years' service with the company. Our national network also features many long-term associate companies, who enjoy the benefits of a stable and efficient organisation.

Such Express loyalty is generated by an environment that is friendly, inclusive and ultimately satisfying. We operate in this environment all day, all night, all over Australia.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT - AWARD WINNING APPRENTICESHIPS

We have led the way in the glazing industry for the training and development of our tradespeople. Since inception, we have had an apprenticeship program, providing opportunities and a career path for school leavers. Our program has repeatedly developed award-winning apprentices, some of whom, after working with us for several years, have gone on to establish their own successful businesses.

As part of our focus on training and skills, we recently implemented abseiling training for our glaziers, to improve our service for high rise and difficult access repairs.

RECOGNITION - INDUSTRY AWARDS FOR EG

Express Glass has won many industry and business awards, the latest of which is the Westpac 2005 Small Business Awards Champions of Champions. The Champion of Champions is one of the most prestigious and widely recognised programs of its kind and celebrates the achievements of small business. Express Glass achieved 1st place in the Trade Services category of the Awards.

The Australian Government/Telstra Business Awards has also recognised Express Glass' professionalism: for three consecutive years our company was named as one of six State finalists selected from thousands of entrants, covering all industries. We believe we are the only glass company ever to achieve this.
